Description
This 9-inch White Tara statue is skillfully crafted from copper, entirely gilded with 24k gold, and delicately plated with silver in select areas such as her crown, creating a balanced harmony of tones and textures.
White Tara, the embodiment of long life and serene compassion, is depicted in full lotus posture. Her right hand extends in the gesture of generosity, while her left gently holds the stem of an utpala lotus blossoming beside her shoulder. Her seven eyes — on her face, palms, and soles — are finely painted, symbolizing her ever-vigilant awareness of the suffering and needs of all sentient beings.
The antique finish softens the brilliance of gold into a gentle matte glow, allowing for a calm, undistracted gaze during practice. The engravings flow with balanced precision — deep and defined along the robe’s borders, light and subtle across its expanse. Her face, painted with pure 24k gold, is refined with smooth and precise detailing of the eyes and lips, radiating a compassionate yet alert presence.
For Dharma practitioners, this statue serves as a reminder to cultivate clarity and gentleness — to nurture both inner and outer vitality while walking the path of compassionate awareness that White Tara embodies. Made in Patan, Nepal, it reflects the elegance and sacred proportions of Newar Buddhist artistry, preserving a lineage of devotion and craftsmanship.
